How a Harris County foreclosure actually plays out

Texas handles most foreclosures without a courtroom (it’s a non-judicial state), so things can move quickly. In a typical case your lender sends a notice of default giving you at least 20 days to bring the loan current, followed by a notice of sale at least 21 days before the sale date.
